Here the class almost over i will feel sad, because English 101 was the most fascinating, extremely exciting and opened our eyes on how does the industrial food system works. In my blog i will discuss the prospective on a system in different ways and how does the information i received influenced my whole life.
From my point of view i hope that system will not exist too long, because it destroys lives and effect many fields like economical, political and ecological. I should mention as well the animal cruelty and
From the political prospective CAFOs are very time and money efficient rather then let the cattle gain natural weight and have more people take care of them on the pastures. We learned that people will use hormones and antibiotics, illegal toxic drags, corn subsidizers on animals in order to rash the productivity. A huge flow of immigration due to the facts that immigrants are cheap labor, eager to do anything, will not complain, not in labor units, we can also include some kind of racial issue talking about child labor as well.
From the political prospective we traced a strong connection between politicians and meat industry CEOs. Many of the politicians were under patronage by slaughter house headquarters, paid for the election companies, financed everything. And if the elections went good Mr President would put his "meat king" friend into position where he can control ans play with food industry as he wishes.
Ecological prospective , in my view, the most dreadful. Special designed "lagoons" that were holding all the animal waste from factories, industrial or "green gases"provoke planet overheating,
Everything i learned on professor Cooper's class is very valuable for me, now i pretty much aware of the food we all consuming, it should be cage free, salt, fat and sugar free, even if its USDA approved. Everything i learned i shared with my friends and family, for me as young mother that was very helpful and important, because now I know where to buy food so that we did not end up with diabetes or cancer.

The 11th hour.
In this blog I will discuss the recent documentary movie called"The 11th Hour."That movie states the main issues connected with the environment, catastrophes, cataclysms, deforestation, air water pollutions and global warming. Many well known scientists and outstanding people took place in the movie. From my point of view in this movie i did not see any spec-effects or heard untrue stories, that was a reality we leave in. And the reality is that the whole human civilization and nature are in jeopardy. And guess who cause it? Only us, humans could do that to our planet. The natural resources are running out, thousands of factory gases or green gases are polluting the air, the Arctics is melting every day. From the collection of interviews we see that all scientists agree on the point where human's involvement plays a certainly main role. We inventing something new everyday, progress never stops, but we keep forgetting that with every new invention we contributing to the more damage to the planet.
According to the Leonardo DiCaprio:"we all have to do our part to raise awareness about global warming and the problems we as a people face in promoting a sustainable environmental future for our planet." In other words what DiCaprio meant is that we have to start realizing today, right now that environment is in danger, we need to do something to continue living on it. So that our next generation will have chance to develop a sustainable life on planet Earth.
Global warming, deforestation and all the other problems as stated in 11th hour are reminder of a broken connection between humans and nature, perhaps the most troubling thing is how we can sit here and argue facts when it might already be to late. We need to learn harmony between each other and nature.

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING WITH AN ENGLISH MAJOR!
That was an exciting seminar on Tuesday, 1 May at the poolside cafe. We had a chance to speak to the people who have majored in English, featuring Peter Katopes, Zach Schlappi and Michael Napolitano and also students and faculty in the Writing+ Literature Program. To know from the people who went thru that path, to ask a questions, to get the answers. The seminar was more as a informal meeting of old friends where people just came along and talked as if they knew each other, so many things in common. I never knew that people who has a major in English can find a job in business sphere, artistic, anywhere. Thus, having a major in English can help you in searching a good job and building a strong career. Another thing that i was really excited about is that i become a winner of a lottery, and i won a book by Oliver Sacks An Anthropologist On Mars.

"The End of Overeating" by Dr. David Kessle.
In the recent discussion of the article "The End of Overeating" by Dr. David Kessle we had a chance to explore the psychological connection between our neuron system and food as salt, sugar and fat. From the author's prospective, he made an accent that food that includes in its content sugar, fat or salt can be very addictive not only to the human's body, but to the animals as well. A number of studies were conducted in Universities of USA and Canada on that issue. Rats showed a result of being very hard working for a certain "reward" and the"reward " was a food high in fat, sugar and salt. As a results shows food containing that three "key" ingredients stimulate our the reward centers in our brains, that creates a pathway that get addictive response and lead to overeating. No matter what food you might eat it already contains either ingredient, people psychologically got used to the taste of salt, ans sugar. But for different people that "bliss point" id different as well, some like too sweet others less, some loves over salty, others not. We get exposed to that kind of food everywhere, TV, billboards, gossips, promotions sales, and a good businessman knows what "button" to push in order to get high profit. Here we can see a strong connection between CAFO and overeating in both are habits, CAFO keeps supplying us with meat high in antibiotics and hormones which are make our immune system resistant to the antibiotics, humans keep demanding for the meat! Meat consumption is kind of cult which a lot of ads crying:"If you are real man eat MEAT!"
Overeating is a psychological habit that people's mind invented in order to get away from the problems and stresses. When you trapped and don't know what to do, when you lost and can not make a right step what do you usually do? You going to the kitchen open a refrigerator and searching for an escape from the reality in food. There is no one to blame except for ourselves. No one put that food into your mouth, you do that yourself. You do not need anybody to help you with the overeating problem, you need yourself.
In the conclusion i would like to add start from realization on the mental level that you hurting you body, by the too much food consumption. Watch for what you eating, when you eating, and how much!
